Louise & Dejan | Wedding Weekend
Louise and Dejan’s wedding celebrations unfolded over two beautiful days, bringing together their Chinese and Serbian cultures in such a meaningful way.
The celebrations began at their home with an intimate Chinese tea ceremony surrounded by their closest family and friends. Before Dejan could officially make his way to Louise, there were a few challenges to get through first. A few drinks, plenty of push ups and lots of laughter as he proved he had what it takes to be a wonderful husband to Louise. It was such a fun way to begin the celebrations and one of my favourite parts to photograph.
The tea ceremony followed, honouring Louise’s Chinese heritage and bringing both families together, before we headed into Melbourne for portraits around the city.
The next day was their wedding day on the Bellarine Peninsula. They were married at St Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church with a traditional Serbian Orthodox ceremony, before heading to the beautiful Provenance Wines to celebrate into the evening.
There was something so special about watching their two cultures come together across the weekend. Different traditions, generations and families all woven into one celebration. Family really was at the heart of everything and you could feel just how loved these two are.
Louise also has such an incredible eye for detail. Her Jimmy Choos, beautiful jewellery, incredible perfume and all the little details she had so thoughtfully chosen. Provenance looked absolutely stunning, filled with the most beautiful florals by Rachelle from The Posie Place, with candlelight and crystal chandeliers bringing everything together.
But it was the people and the feeling of the weekend that I loved most. The traditions, the laughter, the emotional moments and two families and cultures coming together to celebrate such a beautiful couple.
It was incredibly special to photograph and such a privilege to be there for it all.
